About

My name is Ivana Trummová. I am a cryptography researcher and a teacher focusing on human factors in security and inter-disciplinary research. I am currently pursuing a PhD in cryptography at the Faculty of Information Technology, Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague. I also work as a teacher assistant at CTU, teaching courses on cryptography, mathematics and cybersecurity. I created a new course called "Human Factors in Cryptography and Security", which aims to bring an inter-disciplinary point of view to computer science students.I am a part of TeamUSEC (CISPA, LUH) in Hannover, where I stayed during the summer of 2024, and I collaborated with CASA and HCS RUB in Bochum, where I spent the winter semester in 2022. I have also contributed to the field by working for National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB) as a Cryptography Software and Hardware Analyst. With a background in mathematics (MFF UK), both academic research and practical application of cryptography and security principles, I found my professional purpose in studying how cryptography serves humans and in teaching that to my students.I am active in the Czech Scout Movement as a youth leader and instructor. I enjoy sewing and occasionally help make Custom Made Gear. I am a yoga practitioner and an outdoor enthusiast.

Current research projects
With the NIST PQC standardization effort slowly coming to an end, we have been watching the reaction to the quantum threat. In the past two to three decades, multiple competitions took place and had impact on the cryptography ecosystem and its overall security. We study the processes, compare them, assess their impact and gather the lessons we will have learned.
